May 2024 $1,000 Scholarship

In celebration of Asian Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we are delighted to announce the launch of our 2024 micro-scholarship program and this month our May 2024 $1,000 scholarship, which aims to recognize and support the academic achievements and cultural contributions of high school and college students of Pacific Islander descent.

This scholarship is open to high school seniors and college students of Pacific Islander descent who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to their community. We invite eligible students to apply and share their unique experiences, aspirations, and contributions as they continue to make a positive impact on their communities and beyond.

Eligibility:

• Bay Area resident

• Current High School or college student 

• Be a member of the SPIO Network

Application Requirements:

• Resume                                                  

• Essay (500 words max): Reflect on the significance of your Pacific Islander heritage and its impact on your identity, values, and aspirations. How has your cultural background shaped your academic journey, personal growth, and community involvement? In what ways do you envision leveraging your education to honor and contribute to the preservation and celebration of Pacific Islander culture and heritage?
